Racism in IPL and India

Category: , By El Subliminal
This article did not surprise me one bit. Why? The ugly truth is that Indians by and large are racist. It is well known we are fascinated by fair skin, and I cannot add to all that has been said in this regard.
When I was young we had people from African countries who would come to Delhi to get a
college education. I would see these guys while playing football (soccer for all you amrikans).
And I can attest that there were racial slurs being passed around.

Casteism, along with this, and the prevalent sexism all leads to the unfortunate conclusion - India is the most racist place on the planet.

And like all forms of racism, it's totally difficult to comprehend. Perhaps we're not comfortable in our own skin? Of course, white folks spend so much time and money tanning themselves to make themselves brown, so maybe no one is happy with their own skin.

I totally agree that racism is difficult to comprehend and that there is something to be said about how different races interact with each other.

I feel that every race has some kind of misconception or preconceived notion about other races and that these thoughts are the foundation of how they treat these people.

Maybe its just the feeling of security that people in the same race get when they stick to their own, but I feel that this is an issue that will always be present.

Something to say?
